About Me
About Me
Raised and educated in California, I established my self-employment in Germany in 2008 and have been working as a professional German to English translator and editor for companies, institutions, and private clients.
How do you form images from thoughts? To find that out I completed a Bachelors in English and a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in my home state of California. Soon I was editing texts and helping students compose their papers. Doing so, I realized one thing: Writing intimidated people. For me though, it was fun. And the exchange between languages is still exciting; while I learning German, I dove deeper into the structure of the English language, and vice versa.
When I translate, I move through both worlds and enjoy the nuances of the languages, their limitations and possibilities. While editing, I share the innovative and creative projects of my clients and work hand-in-hand with authors. The collaborative goal is clear: The intent that moves the author should be transformed into a text that grabs the reader.
To get closer to the German culture I moved to Dresden and established my self-employment in 2008. Since 2015, I’ve been living and working in Baden-Baden.
